This Bachelor Degree in International Social Work will have a double academic regognition from Protestant University of Applied Sciences, Ludwigsburg and Newman University, Birmingham.

This Double Degree program is an integral part of the international strategy of both universities as expressed in their policies: curriculum, diversity of students and teacher population; and, openness that qualify them for work in organizations outside their own countries of origin.

Students from Eh Ludwigsburg and Newman will study two semesters together. This double degree program will give the opportunity to students being enrolled at the Eh Ludwigsburg to get a bigger international and cultural impact with more incomings and an increase of English lectures.

Learning objectives are:

  • Comparative experiences in social work and social service programs in Germany and the UK.

  • Students will acquire critical understanding of theoretical principles and develop skills that will prepare them for the cultural, social, political and economic background of international practice in social work and social service.

  • The international profile rests on the standard of curricular content and practical qualification that students will acquire to work professionally and interculturally in both countries as well in Europe and globally.

The curriculum content will include broad socio-political policies that have intercultural implications in Europe today. There will be emphasis on skills development and exposure to cutting edge models in practice by social organizations in the social work sector in Germany and the UK. Students will have the professional skills and knowledge to address problems and issues related to children, young adults, families and their communities.
