University Parish
The university parish promotes community spirit among students. You can get information and help from each other and try to find joint solutions to worries and problems. This is where you can share enthusiasm and liveliness.
Regular Parish activities include:
- Bible Study Circles
- Wednesday Worship Service
- Student Pub
- Festivities and Celebrations
- Evening Discussions on Thematic Issues
- Contacts with Social Service Church Institutions
This is where different faiths and Christian traditions meet and experience the "Church" in its manifold characteristics. Individual experience is enriched within youth circles. In a professional context, this manifold enriches personal experience and faith horizons. This motivates work in the parish and in church related social services.
As a parish, we are under the auspices of a Parish Council, comprised of representatives from the student body, the lecturers, and the principal of the student lodgings.
Pastoral Care for Students
It is just good to have a place to meet and someone to talk with at times when:
- there is a crunch or a crisis in a relationship
- one is paralysed by fear of a forthcoming examination
- my faith is not as unquestioning as when I was in kindergarten. Now I need a new form to express my faith.
- Sometimes an outside person can best address questions and problems with a new perspective in interpreting situations. Many things that seem to be stuck can develop again.
Sometimes a person from the outside can best address questions and problems with a new perspective in interpreting situations. In this way things that seem to have stopped can be put back into motion.
The place to contact here is the Student Chaplain's office. It is easy to call or arrange for a meeting by telephone or e-mail.

Constitution of the University Parish
- The University Parish is open to all students and lecturers of the Protestant University Reutlingen-Ludwigsburg. It provides programs that complement and enrich student life. It abides by its self-definition as an independent unit within the University.
- The University Parish is open to all good Christians, as well as to those with doubts. It offers a platform where all people with different intellectual beliefs and backgrounds meet and communicate. It assumes the special task of providing support for students in their personal development and accompanying them in times of difficulty.
- The University Parish wants to enhance community in the University and to strengthen its relationship with institutions in the Karlshöhe Stiftung (Foundation). Parties and celebrations are important means in achieving this. The search for communal and spiritual expression is a priority concern.
- The University Parish keeps alive Christian freedom through the contributions of many. It offers various possibilities for different forms of participation.
