The international degree programs in social work, religious education and diaconal studies at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Ludwigsburg provide an intercultural and inclusive character of the university campus. Visiting lecturers from partner universities initiate discussions on differences and commonalities of social work practice in Europe and around the world given our ever changing political questions and social responsibilities. Visiting theologians provide fresh discourses on the role of deacons and religion teachers in the dialogue of faiths. Discourses in diversity and inclusion open the stage for action oriented reflection on how the service profession of social work, deaconry and religious teaching continues to provide relevant responses to present day challenges.
We welcome students and teachers from partner universities who bring new insight to our local experiences and help us expand our own borders. The International Office implements projects supported by the European Union Erasmus Program to optimize the participation of local and international students in intensive exchange programs and intercultural networking to create a sustained relationship among students and the teaching staff.
The multi-cultural campus is situated in the city of Ludwigsburg where 20% of the local population is of migrant background. The town is home to three academic institutions including the EH-Ludwigsburg. With the presence of the Ludwigsburg Film Academy, the town has earned a reputation as the training ground for award winning young talents in the film industry. Ludwigsburg is also a dynamic hub of art and culture.
The town of Ludwigsburg is easily accessible by all forms of land and air travel. It is 15 minutes by train to Stuttgart, the capital city of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
